The mountain is organized into eight large areas, each with its own character. The most sought-after terrain includes the legendary Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin, favorites of visitors and locals alike.
While Vail has plenty of expert terrain, there are beginner trails across the mountain and ski and snowboard lessons for all ages and abilities, which makes it a great destination for families.
Events & the Ski Season

When It's Open
The season typically runs from mid-November through late April, giving you more than five months of skiing. Exact opening and closing days shift each year, so check current dates before you book.Vail Beyond the Snow
Vail Mountain is a summer destination too. Epic Discovery and the Adventure Pass open up an alpine coaster, zip line tours and tubing, and the gondola runs for riders taking in the green-season views.
